Dr. Mom

Drew has been sick the last couple of days with a high temp...even with meds the temp stays over 100. f so this morning before I left to go to school --(everyone around me got a snow day--except me ahhhh!) I called the Doctor and told them the syptoms and he set Drew up with a visit. He looked in Drew's throat and said that it was swollen and swabbed it for strep....he said that he has to wait for the results but could almost quarantee that he has it...he wrote him a prescription and then sent us home... I am glad that we took him in...strep can affect persons with heart problems differently than normal persons. I have never taken any of my kids to see the doctor and it not be something...I guess that is called a mother's intuition. Last night we had no power in our house and the kids all were scared to sleep alone...I told them when they normally sleep all the lights are out...but somehow knowing that they were off put fear into them...I got my laptop out and popped in a movie and we stretched out all around the living rooms. Candles glowing and covers everywhere we settled in for the night.... needless to say it was a long night...The lights did not come on until after midnight...then the kids had no school...but I did...I am a bit exhausted but I guess that is part of it...well going to go for now...talk to you all later
